Built by Community
DeKalb Public Services is led by a team of community members, volunteers, and professionals who care deeply about access, dignity, and showing up for people. Our team brings together lived experience, local knowledge, and a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families across DeKalb County.
Our work is built on collaboration and participation, with team members contributing through outreach, education, program support, and coordination. We focus on showing up consistently, responding to community needs, and supporting efforts that improve access to information and services across DeKalb County.
Collaboration at the Core
DeKalb Public Services operates through collaboration. Our team works closely with volunteers, local religious leaders, schools, nonprofits, and community partners to plan, coordinate, and deliver programs. Program planning reflects conversations, feedback, and needs shared directly by community members and partners.
Meet our dedicated team
Dedicated professionals enhancing community well-being
Malik Issak
Executive Director
Growing up in Dekalb County shaped my values and sense of responsibility to community. That foundation stayed with me as I spent time abroad. During that time, I supported COVID-19 vaccination outreach alongside Malaysia’s Ministry of Health, which reinforced the importance of accessible public services, trust, and clear communication.
After returning home, I focused on applying those experiences in a practical, community-centered way.
Today, my work is rooted in access, trust, and clarity.
Camryn Grimes
Treasurer
I joined DeKalb Public Services because of its vision to strengthen the community and its commitment to providing clear, reliable, and accessible services to the people it serves.
I am currently completing a business program with a focus on managerial accounting, with graduation expected later this year.
Naheeda Sultani
Community Outreach Director
I joined DeKalb Public Services after years of working directly with people and realizing that support requires more than solutions—it requires guidance, trust, and genuine care.
My experience as a case manager with ICNA Relief reinforced the importance of understanding individual circumstances and standing beside the community with responsible, transparent, and people-centered service.
