We started with what people asked for. Mom’s Circle meets every Wednesday. English classes are forming. Both are free — come as you are.
Mom’s Circle started because mothers in this community needed a place to sit with each other. English classes started because adults coming to us for translation help wanted to build their own language skills, not just depend on ours. Both programs are free. Neither requires anything to get started besides showing up.
More is in development — skills and workforce programs we’re building right now. We don’t put things on this page until they’re real, so what you see here is what you can actually come to.
Mom’s Circle meets every Wednesday. It’s not a class and not a workshop — it’s a room where mothers can come, sit down, and talk to each other. Some weeks there’s a topic to start the conversation. Most of the time it just goes where it goes.
A lot of the mothers in our community are raising kids far from where they grew up — without their mother down the street, without a sister coming over, without the people who would have just been there. Mom’s Circle is a place to be around other women who get it. It’s there every Wednesday, and it’s not going anywhere.
These classes exist because of the people we already work with. Through our Translation & Navigation Services, we see how much language access changes what someone can do — at the doctor, on a job application, at their child’s school. English classes are a natural extension of that work.
The classes are free and open to any adult who wants to learn. They’re designed for immigrants and adults who are learning English for the first time or building on limited prior experience — but anyone who wants to learn is welcome.
Classes are forming now. Contact us to get on the list — we’ll reach out as soon as a schedule is confirmed.
DPS is building out skills-based and workforce programming for adults in our community. We’re not listing it here until it’s ready to run — but if you want to know when something new launches, reach out and we’ll keep you in the loop.
